Cash donation supports UK’s largest community tree planting project

As part of its commitment to making a positive impact on both people and the environment, GO Travel Solutions announces a cash donation of £1,305 to The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) from their 2022-2023 annual profits. TCV is an organisation dedicated to fostering green spaces and enhancing the well-being of communities.

The donation will support TCV's groundbreaking initiative, the I Dig Trees programme, the largest community tree planting project across the UK. Since its inception in 2015, I Dig Trees has spearheaded a movement that has seen the planting of over 3 million trees. These efforts have engaged 6,598 community groups and transformed 7,000 sites across the UK into vibrant, species-rich pocket forests. This project brings life into local neighbourhoods and creates vital wildlife habitats.

Grown in the UK, the native tree packs are carefully selected with communities and nature in mind, bringing maximum benefit to green spaces and the wildlife within. This donation will help pay for the trees, delivery, stakes and guards, and most importantly, provide the support and aftercare guidance that tree volunteers need to ensure success. With each new planting scheme, the programme is creating and connecting wildlife corridors that allow nature to flourish in our communities as the ultimate goal is to ensure these trees thrive - for climate, wildlife and our communities!

Robin Pointon, Managing Director of GO Travel Solutions, commented, "Each year, we invite our team members to nominate a charity that aligns with our sustainable ethos. This year, The Conservation Volunteers emerged as our choice, and we are thrilled that our donation will support the largest community tree planting initiative in the UK."

Debbie Adams, TCV Acting Chief Executive said: “With each group that joins I Dig Trees, together we are creating and connecting wildlife corridors that allow nature to flourish in our communities.

“Thanks to GO Travel Solutions for helping to tackle climate change with TCV’s carbon-busting trees, plant pocket forests to create havens for wildlife across the country and green up local environments for generations to enjoy.”
