GO Travel Solutions are the Travel Plan Co-ordinators for New Lubbesthorpe.

Shortly after starting the Travel Plan Co-ordinator Role, they were tasked with developing and delivering the public transport solution for New Lubbesthorpe.

Arriva has operated the bus service for the last three years, and numerous changes to the ArrivaClick service were made in line with feedback from residents.

However, the Pandemic has had a major impact on public transport across the UK. With 60% of journeys going to and from Leicester City Centre, it was time to review how a bus service could best serve the expanding New Lubbesthorpe community. 

To meet this need it was decided a regular shuttle bus should be implemented. At the same time, residents still needed the opportunity to use a demand-responsive service to reach local destinations like Fosse Park or Enderby.

The Novus Direct and Novus Flex services will provide residents with a regular half hourly service into the city centre and the option to travel locally to a variety of destinations when they need to.

The new Novus bus service combined with the Enterprise Car Club will provide residents with great public transport options that can adapt to the changing requirements of the development in the future.

From Monday 01 August 2022 Vectare will become the new supplier of an extended bus service, which will include both the on-demand service and the introduction of a new regular shuttle service between New Lubbesthorpe and Leicester City Centre. This new service will see continuation and strengthening of the current service to make it even better for users.
