The challenge for Coventry City Council was to engage with residents along either side of the Walsgrave Road in order to promote sustainable travel and improve the air quality along this major route into Coventry City Centre. The aim was to visit 5,000 houses door-to-door to give residents an opportunity to complete a baseline travel survey, to provide them with appropriate travel information and complete a follow-up survey three months later.

Go Travel Solutions completed 7,532 visits within the project timescales, with 1,396 baseline surveys completed.

Go Travel Solutions brought extensive experience of completing successful PTP projects for various clients, such as Gloucester and Tewksbury PTP for Gloucestershire County Council, Milton Keynes PTP for Milton Keynes City Council and The Bridgwater Way PTP pilot project North Petherton, Somerset.

Coventry City Council chose to work with Go Travel Solutions because of our track record of completing successful PTP projects and because of our long term partnership with Atkins.

The engagement target was exceeded by 50% and Coventry City Council had baseline data on how residents travel and what incentives would encourage them to travel more sustainably.
